Transparency for Europe's Civil Society through Online Reporting

A GuideStar system provides an online, highly searchable catalogue of reports on a country's civil society organisations (CSOs). Organisations have a free venue to communicate their work effectively and easily to national and international audiences.

The GuideStar Europe project will assess the feasibility of implementing GuideStar systems for 4 European countries as well as a pilot European portal site

GuideStar International is the coordinator of the GuideStar Europe project.

GuideStar UK provides comprehensive information on the activities, organisation and finances of all 168,000 registered charity and voluntary organisations in England and Wales.  GuideStar UK is a programme of GuideStar International and will share its experiences with the GuideStar Europe consortium members and participate in the GuideStar Europe portal.

From Local to Global: The Value of CSO Information - The Closing of the First Phase of the GuideStar Europe Project

The first phase of the GuideStar Europe program is coming to its end. To present the results, the lessons learnt and introduce the development phase of the project a series of events are planned to take place in Berlin, Budapest, Dublin and London.  These events will provide a forum to show the results of country level developments and provide a synthesis for the European work.
